Do you travel to my area?
Dr. Maggie will travel to most of Suffolk County, and some of Nassau County. Take a look at the Services and Pricing page for more information on house-call fees depending on the distance travelled to your home.

How do I set up an appointment?
There a few ways to contact Cozy Care to set up an appointment or ask questions! You could fill out the Contact Form at the bottom of each page, email us at info@cozycaremobilevet.com, or call 631-314-9594. Someone will return your call or message as soon as possible during business hours. Our current hours are Monday 9am-5pm, Tuesday and Thursday 10am-7pm, and Friday 9am-2pm.
How does a house call appointment work?
You will be given an approximate time of arrival for the appointment. Dr. Maggie will send a text message when she is on her way. Please plan on having cats confined to a small room without furniture they can hide under, such as in a bathroom or home office. Dr. Maggie always carries treats but if your pet is picky or has any food allergies, please have their favorites ready!
The pet owner (over 18 years of age) must be home during the house call visit and be able to help Dr. Maggie with their pet if necessary.
At our first visit we will spend some time getting to know you and your pet. Our initial consults typically last 60-90 minutes. Dr. Maggie will discuss all options for your pet’s care and work as a team with owners to come up with the best treatment plan possible for your pet. Follow up appointments range from 30-60 minutes depending on what care we are providing.
Payment is due at the end of the house call visit. We accept cash, checks, credit card, Zelle, and Venmo.
Do you see anxious or aggressive pets?
Dr. Maggie always aims to provide as low stress a visit as possible. Pets that are stressed during traditional veterinary hospital visits often do better in their home environment. But if your pet is still stressed during a home visit, she may suggest trying anti-anxiety supplements or medications for future visits. If your pet has shown aggression at the vet in the past, we can discuss ahead of time if a mobile visit may work, and what precautions we may need to take.
What can you actually do during a house call visit?
There is so much we can do! We can provide almost as many services as a traditional vet hospital, including wellness and sick visits, laboratory testing, vaccines, treatments for minor wounds and skin growths, medications and refills, and so much more. The only services that we can not provide are emergency visits, diagnostic imaging (such as x-rays), hospitalization, and procedures requiring heavy sedation or anesthesia. If you need recommendations for a hospital local to you that does offer these services, just ask Dr. Maggie.
Visit the Services and Pricing page for more details on what we are currently offering. We look forward to caring for your pet!
Do you recommend pet insurance?
Cozy Care highly recommends having pet insurance. Many pet insurances these days even cover acupuncture and herbal medications! Unfortunately most do not cover pre-existing conditions. Let us know if you have pet insurance or are looking at getting coverage so that we can help you get the most out of it.
My pet is sick or hurt and I'm not sure if it's an emergency. What should I do?
If your pet is involved in a severe accident (such as being hit by a car), or is showing any of the follow signs then they should be taken directly to an emergency veterinarian:
-
Collapsing, sudden severe weakness, or in-ability to walk
-
Trouble breathing
-
Uncontrolled bleeding, or multiple wounds (such as from a dog fight)
-
An in-ability to pass urine (especially in male cats and dogs)
-
Gums and tongue that are very pale or white
-
Uncontrollable seizure activity
If you pet has ingested something and you're not sure if it's toxic or dangerous, then please contact the Pet Poison Control Helpline at 855-764-7661, https://www.petpoisonhelpline.com

Frequently Asked Questions
What is Integrative Veterinary Medicine?
Integrative veterinary medicine is the integration of western (conventional) and eastern medicine. In this case, Dr. Maggie's specialty is Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine (TCVM). This means that Dr. Maggie uses a combination of western and eastern medicine, or just one or the other, depending on the patient's unique needs. Go to the About page to read more!
